The Manage Attributes option is used to include or exclude attributes from the job. Manage attributes from the input data source and attributes that were created in the job. The Add Attribute option is used to create new attributes in a job. Both options are located at the top of each task.
Manage Attributes
Manage attributes from your input data source as well as attributes created in the job.
- Input data source: the input data source attributes are being managed from
- Attribute(s) not in Job: attributes from the input data source and any attributes that were created in the job that are not included in the job
- Add, Add all, Remove, Remove all, Reset: highlight attributes from either side and select one of these options to move them in or out of the job
- Attribute(s) in Job: attributes from the input data source and any attributes that were created in the job that are included in the job
- Remove all unused attributes: removes attributes that are not being used in the job. This includes attributes from the input data source and attributes created in the job
- Update & Edit: update your selection and exist the screen
Attribute Usage
Expand the Attribute Usage section to see where attributes are used in each task.
- Show only used attributes: fill the checkbox to only populate the table with attributes being used in the job. Uncheck the box to populate the table with attributes that are used and not used in the job
- Search: search for attributes in the job by task
- Type: displays an attributes data type. Hover over each icon to read the data type
- Name: displays the name of the attribute by task. Names are sorted in alphabetical order
- Usage (Job name, task(s) using the attribute): displays the job name, and task(s) name where the attribute is used
Add Attribute
Create new output attributes to store modified values. Output attributes only reside in Openprise and will not be created in your target system. Learn more about output attribute naming conventions and best practices HERE.
You must select an attribute type from the picklist when creating a new attribute.
- Date: select this option if the attribute is a calendar date
- IP Address: select this option if the attribute is an IP Address
- Real Number: select this option if the attribute is a numeric value with decimal points
- Text, multi-value (comma separated): select this option if the attribute holds more than one value. Values will be separated by a comma
- Text, single-value (comma is part of text): select this option if the attribute holds only one value. Commas will be treated as part of the value
- Yes or No: select this option if the attribute is a boolean field
- Whole number: select this option if the attribute is an integer
