To re-organize tasks in a job, simply drag and drop the task to a new position as shown below.
The following tasks cannot be moved in a job. They will be identified by an anchor icon to the left of the task as shown in the video above for Task 5.
- Export add/update MDS
- Custom metrics
- Automated acquisition
- Merge data sources
There are some scenarios when moving tasks will cause a conflict.
- Missing required attributes: the task being moved uses attributes that no longer exist in the new location. For example, task 2 uses the deduplication and merge task and task 3 filters for duplicates has value. If you attempted to move task 3 before task 2, you will receive an error prompt.
- Missing attributes in input data source: moving a task to the first task in the job that uses an attribute that doesn't exist in the input data source will receive an error prompt.
- Reference data source dependency: if a task being moved is used as a reference source for another task so that the new task location is now located after the reference's output.
- Output data source dependency: if a task being moved references other task outputs wherein the new task location is now before the reference task outputs.
