The Google Translation Data Service contains two steps: creating an API key in Google Developer Console, and building the Data Service in Openprise.
Google Developer Console
Navigate to https://console.cloud.google.com and sign in with your Google Account. You will need to set up a new project for the Google Translation API key.
Click on "Select A Project" in the upper left corner. Then, in the pop-up window, click on New Project.
Set up your New Project.
- Project Name: Enter a name for your project
- Project ID: Enter an ID for your project
- Location: Select the appropriate account location
- Select Create
API Key
You will need to create an API key for this project.
On the main Developer Console Page, select your project from the drop down. Click on APIs & Services in the Quick access section.
Select Enable APIs and Services in the top menu bar.
Search for "Cloud Translation API" using the API Library search bar.
Click on Enable to enable usage of the Cloud Translation API.
Next we will create a credential to use the API key. Select Credentials on the left hand navigation pane.
Click on Create Credentials. Select API key to create an API key credential and access your API key.
Your API Key should then be generated by Google Console. OPTIONAL: Select Edit API Key to rename the key (i.e. Openprise Google Translation API key), and add restriction if needed.
Create Google Translation Data Service in Openprise
Navigate to Data - Data Services.
Select Add Data Service.
Give your Data Service a name, optional description, assign data service administrators, and labels Select Google Translations in the select Technology section. Click Add Account Information. Select a registered account, or add a new account using your Google account credentials.
If adding a new account, type your google email and apply your API key. Then click Save.
You will now see a new Data Service tile created on the main Data Services screen in Openprise.
