Purpose
This task appends/enriches address and place information using a data service provider.
Category Location: All, Data Services/ Enrichment
Field description
- Select Data Service: Data Service already configured in Data Services.
- Category: Select the industries you'd like to query - supports multiple category selection.
- Intent: Four options: (1) checkin: designed for scenarios where a user is checking in, emphasizing recently visited or nearby venues (2) global: broadest search (3) browse: used for general area searches, (e.g. bars in Soho) and is generally recommended when browsing a specific, user defined area (4) match: used to identify precise venues, crucial when matching external datasets with FourSquare's, requiring query and latitude/longitude
- Near: Select a location attribute. This is a string naming a locality in the world (e.g. Chicago, IL). If the value is not geocodable, returns an error. Global search results will be omitted.
- Query: Select the attribute for the place name you want to find.
- Number of records to retrieve: Type the number of records you'd like to retrieve. Note: Most data providers will charge for multiple matches.
- Use cached results from previous runs: Openprise will cache data for 30 days, which can be retrieved instead of calling data provider again.
- Remove existing values: Remove existing values in the fields if no match was found.
Advanced Configuration
- Name of the MDS file: If you wish to store outputs to an MDS, type MDS name
- Write to field output: Check this box for each field you'd like to output
- Write to MDS/Reference File: Check this box for each field you'd like to write to the MDS
Tips
- You must have the data service you would like to use in Data Services already set up. If you are using your own account, you can set up the data provider yourself. If you are buying the appending service via Openprise, then your service will be set up by Openprise.
- You can decide how many matching records to return from the service provider.
- Depending on the provider used, the data returned by the task may vary.
- You can set the data service in test mode so you won't use up your API quota and incur unnecessary costs during testing.
- The number of input / matching attributes varies greatly across different service providers.
- The number of data attributes returned by the data provider also varies widely.
