Purpose
Projects is a management app used to organize Openprise functionality tools in one place. Projects track which data source(s), data targets(s), jobs(s), data services, analytical reports, and App Factory apps are being used for any process you are building inside Openprise.
To Create a Project
- Go to Projects on the top menu bar
- Click on "Add Project"
- Project Name - required. This name will be used to identify the process you are building in Openprise.
- Add Image - select add image to select an image for your project. Can either upload from your computer or select from the icon library.
How to Configure Your Project App
There are eight (8) sections in Project configurations that can be filled out at any time. These sections identify which Openprise functionality tools are related to the process you are building. Here is a breakdown of each section.
NOTE: You will only be able to save your Project after you've written a title and configured the Grant Access section.
Grant Access
Grant Access allows administrators to choose which groups can access this Project.
- Select groups from the "Available groups" section, and add them to the "Selected groups" section.
- Who can edit - required. Select as many groups from your "Selected groups" picklist option that will be able to access the Project.
- Click "Save" at the top right corner of the app.
Select Bots
Select Bots allows you to select existing Bots that are associated to the Project. Bots must be pre-made before they are visible in the "Available Bots" section.
- Select bots from the "Available Bots" section, and add them to the "Selected Bots" section.
- Bots can be created after the Project app has been configured. However, you must create a Bot first in order for it to be visible in the "Available Bots" section of the app.
- Click "Save" at the top right corner of the app.
NOTE:
Once a Bot is added to the Project, any data sources, data targets, data services and jobs associated to the Bot will be automatically added into the Project upon clicking Save. The best practice is to add all Bots related to the project and SAVE the project FIRST then edit the Project to add any other standalone objects.
You will not be able to add Bots into a Project if the Bot is running. Please wait for the Bot to finish running or cancel reoccurrence when attempting to configure the Select Bots section. If you cancel reoccurrence, you must remember to re-enable the Bot once the Project has been configured.
