This article covers how to connect Openprise to Salesforce when setting up a data source. You can learn more about Data Sources here.
Prerequisites
SFDC User
Create an SFDC User for Openprise (i.e. Openprise User) with API access. This user allow you to track what changes Openprise makes to records.
The following general user permissions should be filled in for the Openprise User:
- Convert Leads
- Create and Customize Reports
- Import Leads
- Transfer Cases
- Transfer Leads
The following administration permissions should be filled in for the Openprise User:
- API Enabled
- API Only User
- Transfer Record
Object & Field Access
Object-level Security
Openprise will need read, create, edit, delete, view all, modify all access to the following objects:
- Leads
- Contacts
- Accounts
- Opportunities
Field-level Security
We strongly recommend giving Openprise access to all field-level permissions so that we can view/read fields in Data Sources, and edit field values in Data Targets.
Data Source Configurations
When creating a new data source, select Salesforce.com from the source technology and data format picklist.
- Select the Add Account Information button to link your Salesforce account to Openprise
- Click on the Add Account button to sign into your Salesforce account using your credentials
- Select from an existing account if you've already linked your Salesforce account to Openprise
Directory or entity - Select the object in your Salesforce containing the data you want to import as a new data source.
